2006 – Rehabilitation of the Bucharest – Constanta railway, part of the Pan-European Corridor IV, for speeds up to 160 km/h

Within the project, Wiebe Romania executed rail weldings (4.300 welds) and turnouts (2.500 welds) weldings (km 147+552 / 224+116), as well as the installation continuously-welded tracks (207.14 km), manufacturing and installation of insulated joints (1.036 joints) and transition rails (754 rails), manufacturing stops for railways.
On the Fetesti – Saligny segment (km 147+552 / 172+690), Wiebe Romania executed railway embankments and rehabilitation, including the new embankment for the Ovidiu – Dunarea segment (120.000 m3 excavations, 200.000 m3 backfilling in the body of the new embankment), as well as superstructure works for the rails deriving from the Ovidiu, Dunarea and Cernavoda stations (48 turnouts and 14.865 km of rails).
On the bridges over the Lock and over the Carasu Valley (Carasu 1 and 2) superstructure refraction was executed along with the complete renewal of the special railway sleepers on the bridges (2240 sleepers), rail and balance devices.
The works was finalised in December 2010.
